About Pat Griggs
Pat joined the founder, Bob Delavan, in July of 2013 and worked alongside Bob until his retirement in August of 2016. Although new to Investment Planning Solutions, Pat wasn't new to either the industry or the Grand Valley. As an Investment Adviser Representative with VALIC Financial Advisors, Pat spent seventeen years assisting primarily not-for-profit employers in the health care, education and governmental arenas. Pat has a long history of assisting his clients in developing a clear picture of their financial future in an effort to bring them the confidence in knowing they have a plan, and are working towards it's implementation. Whatever the plan dictates, be it investments, annuities, life or long term care insurance, Pat stands ready to assist in any area of need.
Pat moved to the Grand Valley with his family in 1976 after his father retired from a career in the military. Pat graduated from Fruita Monument High School where he participated in football and track. After high school, he worked in a variety of venues before attending Mesa College and finding his niche in financial services in 1996. Along the way he found his faith in God and the love of his life, his wife of 38 years; Maura. Maura is also a lifelong resident of the Grand Valley and a graduate of Palisade high school and Mesa College. She's very much enjoying retirement after 34 years as an employee of City Market in their administrative offices.
Being part of military family, there were a lot of moves along the way but fortunately Grand Junction was the final stop. Pat's convinced all of those moves laid the foundation for the close knit family he's blessed to be a part of today. Dad and all six siblings live and work in the Grand Valley and the extended family is growing rapidly as they put down roots. Pat and Maura enjoy traveling, camping, spending time at Lake Powell and just hanging out on the patio with friends for "burger night” to kick off the weekend.
Pat's clients appreciate his ability to discuss complex issues in a down-to-earth way and, when in doubt, to err on the conservative side of things. And, like most things in life, he understands that it's all about relationship, relationship, relationship.
